Newsquest

2adpro worked closely with Newsquest in the initial development stages and developed integration technologies that would streamline not only the outsourcing process, but other internal processes also.

Challenge
The anticipation of a commercial downturn and the need to reduce operating costs initially led Newsquest, the second largest publishing group in the UK and part of the Gannett Group, to the concept of outsourcing prepress departments and consolidating regional prepress centers providing ad design services to clientele.

Newsquest wanted to reduce operating costs, streamline the workflow using technology-centric processes, create uniformity of workflow and application across all Newsquest centers and improve customer service.

Work
Newsquest partnered with 2adpro to refine existing processes and make the best use of their new product development, currently looking at digital ad make-up, online directory, studio design and digital asset management opportunities. Following a series of trials, live production has been achieved, in some instances from 0 to 100% of ad make-up, in one week, involving hundreds of ads and 2adpro has always been ready for this.

Impact
Newsquest has been able to improve the workflow streaming and customer service while reducing operating cost. Other significant benefits include:

Treasure Coast Newspapers

2adpro helped Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers to lower the cost of ad production services while increasing creative capacity and improving turnaround time.

Challenge
Treasure Coast publishes three daily morning broadsheet newspapers (The Stuart News, The St. Lucie Tribune, The Press Journal) with a combined circulation of 110,000. In addition, the company produces a weekly broadsheet product – The Sebastian Sun and a twice-weekly broadsheet product – The Jupiter Courier. A total of 400-600 display ads were produced internally for publication in all these products. Treasure Coast employed a team of forty artists and production team members to manage the ad creation process and was seeking to reduce the cost of this operation.

Work
Treasure Coast partnered with 2adpro to create an on-demand creative services solution for the production of their print ads. Mike Johnson, Director of Creative Services, led the project team to create a solution that would meet the newspapers quality and delivery standards while meeting cost objectives. Treasure Coast began their outsourcing operation with 2adpro in February 2008. In less than six months, the project was fully ramped up and 2adpro was producing 100% of the total ad volume.

Treasure Coast Newspaper has been able to improve turnaround time and creative capacity while reduced the cost of ad production. Other significant benefits include:

2adpro helped a large media company in the United States to increase print and online advertising production capacity while maximizing cost-efficiencies and improving service delivery.

Challenge
The client is a leading international news and information company that publishes hundreds of daily newspapers, web sites and non-daily publications. Client faced declining print advertising revenue due to fragmented leadership and a tough economy.
